Silk shading also known as « peinture a l’aiguille (needle painting) » is used to create a shading of colour with different shades of thread.

Class description:

This class is designed for students to discover the art of silk shading.  You will learn the outline the counters of the design and also the long and short stitch.  Afterwards you will learn how to blend three colours smoothly. Students will work to a floral pattern.

The aim of this class is to be able to create shading and follow the movement of a shape.

This class includes a kit with white silk fabric, different colours of embroidery thread and needles.
